Official opening of the Fraunhofer innovation cluster "Future Urban Security"

The opening ceremony took place on 19th April 2011 in Bad Säckingen. The event, titled "high-tech for urban security" was also used as an opportunity to carry out a spectacular large-scale test of the BMBF project AISIS, which is one of the major projects of our precursor cluster "Future Security BW". The experiment simulated a bomb attack on a building and included the employment of rescue workers. The newly developed "robust sensing walls" technology came into operation: The building was equipped with a sensor system that provides the rescue team with information about the safety level of the individual parts of the building.
